Kyle Black
5'11 shooting guard/point guard
Black came to Wisconsin as
a three-point shooting specialist and the kind of blue-collar player coaches
love. She served that role well as she led the team in long range
shooting and provided a spark off the bench. Kyle wants to be a coach
and she shows that mentality on the floor. When she was pressed into
duty as a point guard, she showed that she understands the game and has
the right mental approach to the position. Unfortunately, her ballhandling
skills aren't up to Big 10 standards. She lacks the quickness to
handle most of the leagues point guards. Kyle is a scrappy player
who gets the absolute most out of her talent. She needs to shoot
better on the move and handle the ball better. Her lack of athleticism
will hamper her in the future, but she'll continue to be a valuable player
off the bench. She also brings the team some much needed natural
leadership.
