Rachel Klongland
6' shooting guard
Sophomore Junior
Klongland was known as a three
point specialist at Sun Prairie (Wi) high school and was brought to Wisconsin
to give the Badgers an outside threat. She's proven to be decent
at that, but her overall game hasn't risen to the point that allows her
to get many minutes at this level. She has been hampered by academic
ineligibility the second semester of her freshman year and a foot injury
that caused her to miss the last month of her sophomore year. When
she arrived, she carried the ball as badly as any player I've seen.
Her ballhandling has improved, but it still isn't up to Big 10 standards.
She's decent defensively, but not really strong or quick enough to be a
factor on that end of the court. She was the fifth guard this year
and will likely fall behind several of the incoming freshmen in next year's
rotation.
