Head Coach: Karen Langeland
 

Langeland is the most senior Big 10 coach and also the only non-Type A appearing person in the bunch.  The only coach in Spartan history, she has guided that program since its inception.  Her teams all well-coached and fundamentally sound and they rarely finish in the lower third of the league.  However, she is not a great recruiter and her teams usually lack the overall talent to compete against the better teams in the league so they rarely finish in the upper third, although she did share a championship with two other teams two years ago.  It was the only championship her teams have won.  Despite her longevity at MSU,  her overall Big 10 record is below .500.  It appears that she will struggle to keep up with the improving Big 10 conference.
