Jan 20, 2000  Junior Lisa Shepherd scored her 1000th point

Jan 13, 2000  Coach Rene Portland won her 450th game as Lady Lion coach.

Jan 10, 2000 Senior Andrea Garner was named Big 10 Player of the Week.

Dec 11, 1999  Senior Helen Darling scored her 1000th point for PSU

Jessica Brungo, a 6' F from Pittsburgh (#95) and Jackie Shook, a 6'4 C from Aurora Ill, (#100) have given Portland verbal commitments for the 2000 season.  Portland has also received a verbal commitment from Jenny Brenden a 5'11 forward from Sauk Rapids-Rice, Mn.  Brenden was one of the top three point shooters in Minn last season, hitting 47% of her long range shots.

Rene Portland has received verbal commitments from 6'3 center Courtney Upshaw of Fairfield Ct, ranked # 60 by the All-Star Girls Report and 5'11 shooting guard Kelly Mazzante, of Montoursville Pa, number 83 in the ASGR

The Lady Lions went 4-1 on a summer basketball trip to Europe.  Soph Katrena Carr performed extremely well on the court.
